SUMMARY:ATCA at 27th Pacific Playwrights Festival | New Play Awards
DESCRIPTION:ATCA members are invited to join chair David John Chávez and New Play committee chair Cameron Kelsall for the 27th Pacific Playwrights Festival plays and award presentations in Costa Mesa\, California May 2-4\, 2025. \nThe Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award and the Osborn New Play Award will be presented during the weekend of events. \nLaunched in 1998\, South Coast Repertory’s annual Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF)\, part of The Lab@SCR\, is a major national showcase for new plays. The 27th festival will feature world premiere productions and staged readings. \nReadings to include: Rachel\, Nevada by jose sebastian alberdi directed by Laura Super\, The Red Man by JuCoby Johnson directed by H. Adam Harris\, Ten Grand by Kate Cortesi directed by Rebecca Wear\, Trip Around the Sun by Jake Brasch directed by Shelley Butler\, and Eat Me by Talene Monahon directed by Josiah Davis. \nFull productions to include: You Are Cordially Invited to the End of the World!  by Keiko Green directed by Zi Alikhan\, and The Staircase by Noa Gardner directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch. \nA summary of past works presented and developed at the Festival can be found here. \nInterested ATCA members may contact the New Play committee chair for additional information and to inquire about possible access. \nOPEN TO MEMBERS ONLY
