On the heels of its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival, the documentary “Horton Foote: The Road to Home” will be presented at the 2020 ATCA convention on Friday, November 13 at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The 75-minute film chronicles the career the Pulitzer Prize-winner through his own eyes and voice, and conversations with those who knew him. Foote, who created such stage works  as “The Young Man From Atlanta,” “Dividing the Estate” “”The Chase,” “The Trip to Bountiful,” and the nine-part “The Orphans’ Home Cycle,” also earned Oscars for his screenplays for “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “Tender Mercies.” This new documentary follows the writer in his last years as he returns to the Texas town of his youth that he spent a lifetime depicting in his works.

Following the screening, there will be a discussion with the film’s director Anne Rapp, Foote’s daughters Hallie and Daisy Foote, and director Michael Wilson.
