Kelundra Smith wins Atlanta Press Club 2022 Award of Excellence
ATCA member Kelundra Smith, co-founder of the Belonging, Equity, Inclusion & Diversity Committee, has been recognized by her home town press club for editorial work. As she announced on social media in late July, she won her first Atlanta Press Club Award for “New Flavor in Your Ear,” a series she co-edited for Atlanta Magazine on southern women in hip-hop. Member Smith is an active writer and editor for national publications as well as a playwright developing her own new work. Her play “The Wash” will have a reading on August 18. She describes the play as “a dramady about the Atlanta Washerwoman’s strike of 1881, a time much like now when workers said enough is enough.” Tickets for that reading are available here.
