Three Shakespeare plays in a single day at the Guthrie Theater. ATCA members have been invited for a rare and wonderful opportunity to convene in a major Midwestern city and a great regional theater to marathon with the Bard. With lunch and dinner breaks, ATCA members led by Executive Committee member Lou Harry will watch, discuss, and experience royal drama of the Shakespearean kind. The weekend’s events could begin on Friday April 12, and continue into Sunday April 14th — to be confirmed. ATCA MEMBERS, HOLD THE WEEKEND!
From the theater’s website describing the 2023-2024 season, three plays run together on a few days of the run, and April 13, 2024 is one of those days!

March 23 – May 25, 2024
Wurtele Thrust Stage
A three-part theatrical event
Heavy is the head that wears the crown. So the history goes in Shakespeare’s three dramas encompassing the life and times of key players in the tumultuous English monarchy from 1398 to 1420: Richard II, Henry IV and Henry V. This dramatic feat marks a return to a historic moment for the Guthrie, as it was performed in rotating repertory on our stage more than 30 years ago. Performed by a single company of actors, this three-play event will immerse audiences in Shakespeare’s examination of power, those who seek it and those who are destroyed by the brittle glory they crave.
Additional details will be provided as the event grows closer. There is no charge to register, but registration is required.
