ATCA Connects programs continue January 18, 2022 with a BEID regional theater case study

COVID afforded theaters an opportunity to pause and re-evaluate their policies, procedures and productions. For Raleigh Little Theatre, that meant re-examining their annual production of CINDERELLA. What happened next is a testament to what happens when you engage the community in conversation, listen, and commit to creating a safe space for all. It is a case study of how one theater addressed and embraced Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and may provide a model for other organizations struggling to do the same.

The panel discussion for ATCA members and nonmembers, scheduled for January 18 @ 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm EST, is organized by the ATCA Belonging, Equity, Inclusion & Diversity Committee. RLT Executive Director Heather Strickland and Artistic Director Patrick Torres will be in conversation with LGBTQIA Advocate Candis Cox. ATCA Executive Committee member Lauren Van Hemert moderates.

Check out the ATCA Event page for any additional late-breaking information.

Join us on Zoom for the live discussion, or on Facebook for the recorded session to be uploaded after the event. Note that on the Event page you can RSVP for the Zoom session — if you do, you will be sent the session zoom link at your email address, and assist us in tracking who is present in our sessions. We are experimenting with the best way to make our sessions accessible for members and non-members alike.

This is part of a series of ATCA events initiated in early 2021 for critics, by critics. Featuring ATCA members as panelists and moderators, these events are free, informal and geared toward working arts writers.
