ATCA convenings go virtual with “The Next Normal”
What good is sitting alone in your room when, through the magic of Zoom, you can join fellow arts journalists from around the country for a low-cost weekend of challenging ideas, insight, and, yes, fun at ATCA’s first virtual conference — Friday November 13, 2020 through Sunday November 15, 2020.
You’ll meet some of the top names in the industry, including Oskar Eustis (The Public Theater) interviewed by Soraya Nadia McDonald, playwright/author Richard Wesley (“The Mighty Gents”), and Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (“Ragtime”).
You’ll hear journalist Maya Phillips (The New York Times) offer the ATCA Perspectives in Criticism address.
Maya Phillips (photo from her website)You’ll take in some of the leading regional theater artistic directors discussing their challenges in survival and programming, discover what went into the creation of ATCA award-winning plays from the playwrights themselves, and explore what inclusive theater might really look like on the other side of COVID-19.
And there’s plenty more. Stay tuned for more details. Our registration page will go live soon. For now, block off November 13-15 on your calendar. You won’t want to miss this. #atca2020
