ATCA travels to Costa Mesa in April

Conference chairs Lou Harry and David John Chávez invite members to the ATCA annual meeting to Costa Mesa, California for South Coast Rep’s Pacific Playwrights Festival from April 23-26, 2020. Conference registration is open! You know it’s an official conference when a hashtag has been assigned: #atca-ppf20

For other details (now moot because of the pandemic):

The ATCA executive comimittee will meet Wednesday, April 22 just before the conference gets started, and the Foundation board will meet Friday, April 24 while the conference is underway.

A vitally important institution for the development of new work, the Pacific Playwrights Festival has introduced more than 130 plays since 1998, including “A Doll’s House, Part 2,” “Intimate Apparel,” and multiple Steinberg Award winners such as “I & You,” “Vietgone,” and “Cambodian Rock Band.”

At the conference, members will view two world premiere productions and four full readings of new works in development, as well as the presentation of ATCA’s newest Steinberg and Osborn Awards. This year’s new location for the Awards presentation offered the opportunity for New Play Committee chair Lou Harry to build an exciting conference around the event. Let’s support ATCA’s new play awards, some of the best endowed awards in the country, by supporting the newest recipients in April.

Visit the conference registration page to sign up for the conference and to arrange hotel accommodations, at a great conference rate, at the Crowne Plaza Costa Mesa, located a short distance from South Coast Rep and our other meeting locations.
