ATCA2021 From Where We Sit | “Flying Over Sunset” panel now on Sunday

Theater, that ephemeral artform, changes with the moment, the personnel available, contemporary tastes, even the weather. Events about theater, like our upcoming virtual convening ATCA2021 From Where We Sit, morph just as easily. ATCA2021 has adapted to many changes over the past few months and even the past few days: adding sessions, modifying session content and participants, and now moving a panel from one day to the next.

One change in the last 24 hours involves our exciting session on the creation of the world premiere Flying Over Sunset. This eagerly-anticipated session has been moved from Saturday morning to Sunday November 14, at 11am EST. And the session will now be hosted by one of the show’s stars, Harry Hadden-Paton.

11:00 AM SESSION: How this show got made featuring “Flying Over Sunset,” an original musical opening on Broadway in December. “A beautiful beach house overlooking the Pacific with Cary Grant, Clare Boothe Luce, and Aldous Huxley … and they are on an acid trip. Together.”

Harry Hadden-Paton, actor (“Flying Over Sunset,” “My Fair Lady”) in conversation with
James Lapine, director/writer (“Sunday in the Park with George,” “Into the Woods”)
Tom Kitt, composer (“Next to Normal”)
Michael Korie, lyricist (“Grey Gardens”)
Michelle Dorrance, choreographer

For all up-to-the-minute conference details, check the conference registration page. The Early Bird price has now lapsed but the Full Conference price for two days of programming and several streamed events is only $50. All ATCA members are invited to join us!
