Charles Giuliano | Museum of Fine Arts receives his gonzo treatment
Past ATCA Executive Committee member Charles Guiliano reports that his new overview of the world-class Museum of Fine Arts Boston is now available.
His newest publication offers an oral history of an essential Boston arts institution draw from interviews over the decades with museum directors, curators, trustees, journalists, gallerists, and art historians.
Guiliano’s own website offers terrific insights into his life and career and multiple publications, and his substantiated claim to being the original “gonzo journalist.”
Over decades, while working as a journalist, critic, and art history professor, Giuliano asked the provocative questions. According to his website, he zeroed in on: why Brahmin expressionists were favored over Jewish impressionists, and explored how the MFA became the world’s leading museum of Far Eastern collections.
